Sexy politics blog: Some sort of rant on white culture → bangmyenchilada.tumblr.com

bangmyenchilada:

Warning, I tend to jump around.

I’ve noticed that the same people who are constantly screaming about cultural appropriation and the like, in the same breath, constantly denounce the cultures and religions of the mostly white people who are apparently so racist. For one thing, POCs wear American…

No, the government shouldn't be involved in marriage, but don't you think that they should be fair and let everyone get married?

Can you die from having too much exposure to stupidity?

in her kiss, i taste the revolution: I feel really disgusting tonight.

inherkissitastetherevolution:

I feel really disgusting tonight.

I usually have pretty damn good self-esteem/body image.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love my body, bad hair days, stretch marks, scars, and all.  But tonight, I feel pretty disgusting.

But then I remember that encouraging self-hatred is a tool of patriarchy & neoliberal capitalism, which relies on self-surveillance culture to sustain itself through retail therapy & conspicuous consumption as a “solution” to “personal” problems (which in reality, are of a political nature.)  If I’m loathing myself, tearing myself apart, & trying to “improve” myself through mindless consumption, then that’s time I’m not spending challenging those feelings, processing them, & deconstructing them.  It’s time that’s not spent fighting the actual problem:  systems of domination & structures of power which want me to hate myself & to be preoccupied with thinking “oh it’s just me” & not something structural & institutionalized.

Loving myself is an act of radical political warfare.

Hey, girls! The latest news, fresh from  inherkissitastetherevolution:

Beauty supplies harm every woman by advancing the male agenda — thus oppressing you. Buying it is the opposite of loving yourself, and advances the hatred, and self-hatred, of your fellow woman. It’s a conspiracy!

Let me ask you this: do you seriously buy that?

Regards,

IIF

This is so full of shit. Severe amounts of insecurity are either a hormone imbalance or a personal problem of being too easily influenced by what others think of you. Little insecurities every once in a while are completely natural. But the main thing is that you are always the source of your own insecurity.

“While they complain about minimum wage legislation, regulations on working hours, and various ‘artificial’ entry barriers into the labour market imposed by trade unions, few economists even mention immigration control as one of those nasty regulations hampering the workings of the free labour market. Hardly any of them advocates the abolition of immigration control. But, if they are to be consistent, they should also advocate free immigration.” —

Ha-Joon Chang (via azspot)

Plenty of free market oriented economists have argued for free immigration. It’s not only a matter of having more people producing things and therefor contributing to the complexity of the economy, but it’s also an ethical and moral issue of allowing people to travel where they want, so long as they don’t infringe on the private property rights of others.

“After displaying white sheets to encourage Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, anti-choice activists are now initiating the “Defund ‘Klanned’ Parenthood” campaign and plan to “cover the entire lawn of Planned Parenthood with white sheets” tomorrow in Washington. Led by radical abortion-rights opponent Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition and Kristina Garza of “Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust,” the group is calling on Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, even though the Senate rejected the measure to defund the women’s health organization earlier this month. As part of a growing campaign to charge abortion providers with committing black genocide, Garza likened their work to that of the civil rights movement…” —

Religious Right Groups Mobilize “Defund ‘Klanned’ Parenthood” Effort

Exploiting race as a wedge is despicable — and typical of right-wingers, who are desperate to win the political support of non-whites anyway they can, no matter how hypocritically or dishonestly. And attacking Planned Parenthood is absurd if your goal is to actually reduce abortions, since PP reduces the number of unwanted pregnancies. We all know what the forced-pregnancy crowd really wants here: A big pool of people living in poverty who can serve as a cheap labor. — Ryking

(via ryking)

You are the biggest idiot I’ve ever seen.

The reason they’re comparing Planned Parenthood to the Klu Klux Klan is because they are performing more abortions on blacks than any other race. It isn’t dishonest. It’s the truth. I also don’t see how they’re being hypocritical. Sure, they’re political leanings are stupid, but so are yours since you clearly support forcing people to give the money they’ve earned to things they may or may not support. It’s the woman’s choice but everyone else gets to pay for it. That’s not hypocritical at all.
