At least when it comes to the men in my family that have served and are serving and a man I could’ve ended up with getting sworn in today, I’ll know that my conscience is clear. I’ll know that they deserved better than to be tools of imperialism, racism, and murder all under the bullshit propaganda of “freedom” and “democracy.” At least when some of them have the consequence of losing a friend, losing a limb, losing their mind, losing their life, or, worse still, losing their conscience, I’ll know that it was never because I encouraged them to do so. Meanwhile you’ll sit back and talk about how ~brave~ they are to have risked or thrown away their entire lives for nothing.
